Acronis services in Windows 11

Thread solved

These latest versions of Acronis Cyber Protect have a few services running in the background.

Can all of these be stopped from auto starting and changed to manual and if so, if I do a full or differential backup will the services needed start as needed to perform the backup? Or will I need to start them up?

I am only using Acronis for backups (manually) no schedule, nothing else.

KB 69466: Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office: Windows services and processes

The above documents all the components of ACPHO and their purpose.

If you are only using ACPHO for backups, then you should ensure that you have not installed other features that you don't use or want, which will remove many of the associated services and processes without needing to try to stop these yourself.

Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office: how to install | Knowledge Base

The further link shows how you can do a Custom Install to only install the Base Backup feature.

Beyond that, then use the New MVP Assistant Version 2.7.4 Available tool option to disable unwanted background services.

Click on Acronis Configuration in the MVP Assistant, then on Feature Configuration which then lists 4 background services which can be safely disabled via the tool.

What files do you have that are not shown in KB 69466?

It is possible that Acronis have made some changes since the KB was published back in February?

Hello!

Could you please be more precise and tell us what doesn't match exactly? Is it the names or the description of the services in the OS? And if yes, please give us examples.

Thanks in advance!

I have:

and

But no protection was checked during install, I use Mcafee.

The full description of the the processes/services for protection against Malware and Ransomware are:

Acronis Active Protection Service anti_ransomware_service.exe Protects a computer against ransomware, cryptomining and offers Zoom protection
Acronis Cyber Protection Service cyber-protect-service.exe Protects against malware
bckp-amgr.exe Alert Manager Service: stores information about malware detection
adp-agent.exe Manages malware detection according to policies; manages quarantine; manages database updates; provides alerts to alert manager
monitoring-mini.exe Quarantine (stores activities, provides access to quarantined items)

In your active services/process any of those seems to be running or active.

From what I can see in the screenshots just the regular and essential services to run the program and the respective backup activities are running.

Best regards.
