How to completely disable cyber protection?

Thread needs solution

Greetings,

This may sound strange, but while I like Acronis and have been a user since 2017, is there a way to completely disable or simply not install the Cyber protection?  My PC has all the protection I want, I don't want another cyber protection software running.  While I can turn the feature off, there is still a service running automatically and it won't let me set it to manual, I get "Access denied".  If I can't uninstall this feature, how can I change the service to manual so it isn't always running?  I set the other Acronis services to manual since I only do manual backups, again, I don't want services running that I don't use on a daily basis.  Again, I like the product and have used it for years, but I just don't need all of the current features.

Jim, welcome to these public User Forums.

The only guaranteed method to not have all the new Acronis Cyber Protect services etc running is to take a subscription of the latest ACPHO version which now allows a Custom / selective install where you can elect not to install these unwanted features!

For earlier True Image versions with Cyber Protect then you would need to 'hack' the software, i.e. set all these unwanted background services to be Disabled for automatic start option, then restart the PC followed by renaming the associated Acronis executables for those disabled services before they get restarted when the application is started (ignoring previous actions!).
