Backups shows as successful and validated but can't be found in Recovery

Thread needs solution

I thought I had been successfully backing up my hard drive to my NAS, because the backups show as successful and the validation is successful:

But when I tried to go to the Recovery screen today to make sure I could retrieve a backup, the most recent backup version available was from nearly a year ago:

How is this possible?  When I look at my NAS directory containing the backups, the latest backup version is 7/12/21.  But the backups I've been doing since then show as successful, take nearly an hour to perform, and I can hear my computer and the NAS hard drives working when the backup is running.  What is going on?

Mark, you need to review the logs for the backup task you are looking at here to see where the backups are being written to and whether they are being deleted or not?

Download a copy of the MVP Assistant log viewer tool and use this to look at the logs to see if they show any issues during the operation process?

The latest version of the new log viewer tool is at the link below.
MVP Assistant update for Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office (Version 1.1.6.0)

If you have Disks & Partitions backups created on ATI 2020 or later using .tibx files, then look in the Backup Worker logs.

If you have Files & Folders backups using .tib files (or Disk backups from earlier versions using .tib files) or using Cloning then look in the Demon logs.

Other logs are shown by the MVP Assistant under the 'Active Logs' heading of the Log Viewer page of the Assistant.

The Schedule2 log contains information related to scheduled task but is one of the more difficult logs to read / work through.

The log files should be zipped to preserve their original file names if sharing in the forums and would need to be less than 3MB in size, otherwise you would need to share the zip file via a Cloud share service such as OneDrive, Dropbox etc.

Note: Please check your backup settings for this task including the Destination as there are multiple reports in the forums of an old issue coming back where Acronis is resetting task configuration settings back to default values!  At least one other user has reported his backup to a NAS being written to his C: drive!
