Can’t stop or uninstall Cyberprotect

Thread needs solution

Acronis Cyberprotect was apparently installed as a trial. It runs a dozen or more services which can be disabled, but will continue running anyway. The process will not allow itself to be ended. The application will not allow itself to be uninstalled.  The backup utility was never supposed to be a “security suite”.

Meets all the classical definitions of malware. How do I get rid of Acronis Cyberprotect?

With ACPHO you get everything installed with zero options allowing for a modular install of only specific components or features.

If you don't want all the extra background services running regardless of being enabled in the application settings, then you need to uninstall the whole application.  There is no middle ground to allow only the Backup, Recovery and Clone features to be installed.

To uninstall, use the normal Control Panel > Programs & Features option initially, then download the Acronis Cleanup Tool (link below) and run this to remove any residual components / data, followed by doing a windows restart.
