Clone successful despite stuck at 1 minute left

Thread needs solution

FYI, I think the title says everything.  Just reporting to let you know I had the concerning "less than 1 minute left" dialog box when creating a clone. It hung there for quite some time.  So I downloaded the MVP tool.  The log said the clone was successful - after fixing a registry error.  So I closed the dialog box and acknowledged that I would stop the cloning process.  I rebooted from the new drive and all was fine.

Steven, welcome to these public User Forums.

Did you remove the original source disk for the clone operation before booting from the cloned drive?  If not, then please be aware that this can cause issues!

Hi Steve!

Yes, I did the boot with only the clone.  I knew better than to have two boot drives.  LOL.

The "less than 1 minute left" dialog box occurred during the actual cloning process.  on step 9 of 9. I closed it, removed the original drive (usb connection) and rebooted using the new drive and it worked.  So just relating this as an FYI.  But I suspect this will be an occasional headache for others.

This problem is all over the Internet - but no one from Acronis or any 'expert' like the one above ever responds to this question.  Why do you ignore the question?  That's just rude.  Note that he never responded to the issue of 1 minute left.  And with so many posts about this over several years why isn't Acronis taking action to fix this problem.  And why does someone have to discover all the things that won't work after trying repeatedly, when Acronis could just provide documentation as one starts to clone.  This company provides some of the worst technical support I've come across in 50 years of IT.  And the product is so unreliable.  I've tried to get rid of it, but I keep getting automatically renewed.  And I make the mistake of trying to use it since I own it.  Oh well - my bad.

Brian, if you have an active subscription then you are entitled to get support direct from Acronis for your product and to report any problems like this to them.

The MVP's do not work for or get paid by Acronis for their contributions in these forums - we are just other users with relevant experience in using the products but have no ability to fix any code issues that may reside in the Acronis code.
