Is download of existing cloud data supposed to work?

Thread solved

I thought it would be handy to have a file copy of the cloud data at hand. The process seems to be

Cloud -> Open Location -> https://cloud-wr-us2.acronis.com/#/dashboard

Select “Name” -> 3 items selected (C:, D:, E:) -> Download [the PC I just tried it on has 3 HDs]

Firefox Downloads shows “Cloud.ZIP”

However, the result is ALWAYS

Shortly after, Firefox shows “Cloud.ZIP failed” -> Cloud.kVbY1Flk.ZIP.part

Tried it several times on two PCs and got the same result each time. [The second PC has a single HD]

Am I missing some important step(s), am I cursed, or does it simply not work?

Bert, the option to download data from the Acronis Cloud via the dashboard is intended to work but has been criticized many times in the forums because of the inherent unreliability that plagues the download of any data of size!  This is especially annoying because the download is not automatically resumable, so has to be restarted over again!

At present the only advice I can offer is to try to download only the smallest sets of data, i.e. don't attempt to download your three partition backups together but try them one at a time!

On the positive side, if you perform a disk recovery from the Acronis Cloud using the bootable rescue media, this does handle any connection issues and will resume if interrupted!

See my YouTube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klgt51pSpZ4&t=49s - where I did some testing of the latter recently.

Thanks for the explanation. I did try a smaller set of data on another PC with exactly the same failure, so I don't expect to see any improvement by doing one drive at a time on the big machine.

I'll have to think about trying the disk recovery technique, but the whole scheme is starting to look too time consuming for something that's not really needed.
