File-level backup administrator privileges

Thread needs solution

Can't do a file-level backup on a file that needs administrator privileges to access. Please see screenshot of error message. How do I provide administrator username and password in file-level backup configuration?

Thanks. Rick

Rick, Acronis requires that it is installed from and run from an Administrator account in order to have the correct authorities / privileges to work.

Your screen image is telling another story though, which is that the blocked file is owned by OneDrive and that is the most likely reason for the error, especially if you have Files on Demand enabled for OneDrive.  Acronis does not backup reparse points which are used by OneDrive with Files on Demand.

Steve - thanks for your quick response. Yes, I did know about the Acronis Administrator account requirement. I found a work around. I copied the file to a Onedrive directory that does not require Administrator account privileges and was then able to successfully back it up after re-configuring the file backup for this change.

I believe I was able to perform the file backup since the latter directory is not owned by the Sage Peachtree application, it is owned by Onedrive. I think Sage Peachtree was preventing access to the file and not Onedrive.

If this is not correct, please let me know.

Again, thanks for your response.

Oh man!

This was so obvious I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier. I was trying to backup a Peachtree backup file that was not saved in the default Peachtree backup file djrectory which is within a company directory. It was saved outside of Peachtree. Once I realized I had to go to the default Peachtree backup directory and choose the file from there the file backup worked like a charm!

Ever had something like that happen to you? Oh well, better late than never as they say.

Have a good weekend everyone!
