Problem with Using MVP Rescue Disk in Win 11
Steve, continuing the discussion I started incorrectly on the Off Topic forum, I successfully followed your instructions to reset the GPT attributes, recreated the MVP Rescue Disk and restarted the PC. Same symptom; different observation. ACPHO did not start. I went to File Explorer and this time C: drive was there but no contents showed. I then went to Powershell and c: drive. I got the following error message: "This drive is locked by Bitlocker Drive Encryption. You must unlock this drive from the Control Panel". I don't have this problem in my regular Win 11 Boot.
I don't know if I somehow created this problem but in any event, how do I fix it?
Bob

Steve, wasn't sure if you meant to use the manage-bde command in the Win 11 environment or the Rescue Disk environment. Tried is first in the Win 11 environment and it looked OK - said it was deencrypting. Booted on the MVP Rescue disk and ACPHO didn't start. Checked C: in its Powershell and it gave me the same bitlocker error so I tried the same manage-bde command. Got the error message "The operation cannot be performed because the volume is locked". I'm wondering if the Powershell I get in the MVP Rescue Disk isn't in admin mode? I didn't think of that until I came back to Win 11. Somehow I feel like I am on the bleeding edge in Win 11 - and I consciously thought I gave it enough time to not be in that place. Silly me.
Thx, Bob

Bob, the manage-bde command was intended for the Win 11 OS environment as should apply to the whole PC once actioned thus allowing correct operation when in the PE media boot.
Have to confess that I haven't played with Powershell with MVP rescue media created on Win11 - I had to make up a special version with Win 10 to get Powershell to work as wasn't included by default, so wonder if that has changed with 11?

Hi Steve. I actually made some progress. I had a brainstorm that perhaps the manage-bde command needed some time to complete even though I was taken back to the prompt almost immediately after I entered the command. So I tried the command again today in the Win 11 environment and it told me that bit locker is disabled. I then booted on the MVP WinPE environment and again ACPHO didn't boot. I started File Explorer and this time C: and all its subfolders and files showed up! Progress.
I went to X: drive and found the .lnk file for TrueImage. I double-clicked it and got the following error message: 'Windows cannot find "X:\Program Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImage_starter.exe". Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again'. I looked into this folder and it was empty!
I am guessing that this is back to an issue of compatibility among the MVP Tool vs ACPHO vs Win 11. What do you think? Have you had any issues re creating the WinPE tool in this environment ? Is this likely an incompatibility or did I probably do something wrong? Glad to test out any theory you might have.

Steve forgot to mention that I checked to make sure I had correctly taken the two steps outlined in Mustang's post: How to use the MVP Tool with Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office to create WinPE/RE Recovery Media. Everything checked out on my system.

Bob, I can only suspect that something wasn't done correctly if you were following the steps given by Mustang manually and the launcher isn't being found!
I have checked with my own rescue media and all the correct files are found but I use the Powershell scripts that I posted in topic: How to use the MVP Tool with Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office to create WinPE/RE Recovery Media and in particular, used as I documented in the post updated at Fri, 01/14/2022 - 12:01 for another user who asked for the correct sequence for using the process.
When I looked at my MVP media (after booting from it), I see as shown below (in the File Explorer):
The above shows trueimage_starter.exe in the expected location for launching ACPHO.
For reference, I also created and tested the ACPHO Simple WinPE media and this just shows a difference folder for the same .exe file.

Steve, I finally got he MVP Rescue Disk working properly. For a reason I'll probably never understand, it was a permissions issue with the TrueImageHome folder and it's subfolder that Win 11 wouldn't change the normal way. I figured a workaround to change permissions and was then able yo create a working MVP.
Thanks for all of your advice.
I hate computers.

Bob, good to read that you have got this sorted! Well done for persevering with finding and resolving the issues!
