I have this same problem.. I've reformatted and repartitioned several external drives that I am using for a NAS setup. The PC must be restarted to "commit" the operations, and when finished, Autopart exits, reboots windows, but my Startup Partition must be "repaired" each time. I was about to upgrade to DD 12.5, but I'm not paying for JACK if I'm going to run into these issues.
I'm running Win 10 Vers. 1903 (Build 18362.10013)
WD Black SN750 NVMe M.2 SSD (Disk 0)
Seagate FireCuda ST2000LX001 (Disk 1)

Hello Mike, Rob75,
The root cause is not quite clear. I would suggest contacting Acronis support for further troubleshooting. As I workaround, you may try using bootable media.
Thank you!

Acronis Disk Director 12.5 has issues that Acronis has not addressed or resolved. They stem from Windows Security Virus and Threat Protection. TURN IT ALL OFF. Add the exclusions for the Disk Director's process and exe. as well as Recovery Expert. It will work fine as long as you do not engage Controlled Folder Access, Tamper Protection, Automatic Sample Submission, Cloud Protection...whew... Turn it all off when using the program. Also. make sure you have it set to Run as Administrator with Compatibility for Windows 8. Acronis has not spent the time to fix this old program that worked beautifully on Windows 7 in 2011. The Bugs are because Acronis is lazy.

Hello Kevin ,
sorry to know about your frustrating experience! Currently, all Acronis products require being installed from an administrative account and added to the list of exclusions in the running antivirus programs. If these prerequisites are met, but the issue with drive detection still persists, it should be investigated with the help of Acronis support team. Alternatively, you may want running Acronis Disk Director from a bootable media.
