adding xp to existing w7

Thread needs solution

I have been using number of bootmanagers before, now want try this os selector which came with the disk diretor 2011.

I have partitioned the drive.
first two partitons are the w7/64.
Then I made a ntfs partiton for xp installation
following some data partitions ntfs and fat32
at he end linux ext3 partitions

Now w7 is running, I have the oss instaled and ok, it hsows me both w7 partitions, the 'system' one ans the real one, ok it boots both.

Now I am about to install the xp to the nr3 primary partition.
But for that I need first to hide the w7 partition , otherwise xp will be installed into this and will try to call that its C: drive.

Now can someone point me to some howto or similar lecture how to install other os when one is already there?
No such infos seems to be supplied in the instruction provided with the original CD.

The basic steps I recommend can be found in these threads: Link 1, Link 2

OK, many thanks will try and see what happends, have made a clone of the curent hadrdrive, so what ever goes wrong...

How do you deal with the fact that often w7 has 2 partitins, standard boot from the small 'system' one. When booting to xp, both w7 partitions should be hidden and unhidden when booting w7.

That's correct. Hide both of the Windows 7 partitions (System Reserved and the main partition) when booting XP, unhide them and hide XP's partition when booting Windows 7.
