Cloned Disk No Longer Boots

Thread needs solution

Hello, everyone. We cloned a laptop drive to a SSD successfully using Disk Director 12. The operating system is Windows 7 (64-bit). The clone was done without any issues. The hard drive worked without issues for approximately 1 week. However, suddenly, we experienced an "infinite loop" of sorts where windows would boot into the Startup Disk Repair window and then after allegedingly fixing an error, restart the computer and boot back up to the Start Disk Repair Window.

We have removed the drive and checked it on other machines -- the files are all fine. There is no pyshical issue with the drive. We suspect the issue is related to booting.

Has anyone ever experienced this issue or can otherwise provide us with some guidance? I'm not a computer whiz by any means so please bear with me.

Thanks again.

Hi,

I am sorry that you experienced the issue. It's hard to tell whether is issue is caused by an error while cloning or some other issue. Still, at this point you should deal with the failing boot. So I suggest you create a system Recovery Disk, then boot into it and try to Repair the boot sector via native Microsoft tools. If you have any error message, you can try to Google it or you can post it here, so I can try to help you find the solution with you. Here are some possible issues with the resolution:

Same commands can be issued when connected to the command promt in the rescue media.
