Cloning HDD on laptop failed with Acronis Disk Director 11

Thread needs solution

Hello,
I'have a Fujitsu Amilo Pi 3660 (Windows 7 Home premium 64 b) with a WD 320 G system HDD. I tried to clone this HDD to a Seagate XT Momentus 750 G in order to increase its performances.

Previously I checked the source HDD with CHKDSK : no problems was detected..

Then, with Disk Director 11 (update 2 build 11.0.2343) the target HDD was initialized and cloned with 'proportional volume resizing' and 'Copy NT signature' options.

After cloning process, and restarting PC with the new HDD (and without the old one), many problems occured

:
- First of all, at the first boot, Windows 7 asked me to restart : it never happened before with my previous cloning operations,
- And then :
o Windows Live Mesh was unable to start even after uninstall/re install process,
o the standard W7 Capture utility does not work anymore....

Obviously there is something wrong on this "new" system...and i can't trust it.

Could you help me please ?

Best regards

Hello Isabelle.

Thank you for your post on our Forum!

Isabelle, Acronis Disk Director 11 does not affect Windows system configurations. But for more detailed investigation of the problem could you provide me your system report.

Isabelle, to resolve this issue I advise you the following: please try to run clone disk again and don’t change NT signature. Please follow this link (page 48). Here you will find complete information how to leave an NT signature without changes.

I am waiting for your reply!

Thank you!
