Data was all gone after preforming a merge

i went on to add some more space to a partition from an unalocated partition and when i commited the process i got an error that said file system is corrupt or something like that at witch point the progress bar turned red and i canceled the process. then when i went to check on the drive it had the new space i gave it but all the data was gone and it wasnt formated. now is there anyway i can get my data back?

oh and btw about half of my data on my partition was encrypted if that means anything

Were you just resizing a partition to use adjacent unallocated space or were you using the Merge feature?

Did the resize in the log complete or is that the procedure that errored?

If the file system is really corrupted you may not be able to recover much (if any). You would need to run some file/format recovery programs on the partition/drive and see if they find anything.

Do you know if the drive really has bad sectors?
