DD10 does not see second drive
I have a secondary computer running XP or W2k in a dual-boot arrangement, and which has two HDD's.
Drive 1 carries the OS's, plus numerous programs spread across various partitions.
Drive 2 contains only data, again spread across four partitions.
Recently I decided various modifications were required to this set-up, and fired up TIH11 and DDS10 to sort matters out. Both showed Drive 1, with all its partitions (plus an USB memory stick and SD card reader), but there was no sign of Drive 2 when using either program.
Initially I made the changes to Drive 1 using DDS10 (having first cloned it with TIH11 to an external USB HDD as a safety backup). The whole process was successful.
Turning my attention to the “missing” Drive 2, I found that an update had been issued for DDS10 – build 2, 288 – so I un-installed the original and replaced it with the update.
Drive 2 was now visible together with it's 4 partitions (however it was still not seen by TIH11 - build 8, 101 – the latest version I think).
I closed the machine down as it was lunchtime, but when I rebooted it later in the day Drive 2 had vanished again on DDS10 !!
Incidentally:
- if I disable my USB HDD, TIH11 tells me neither Cloning or Add New Disk are possible as I have only one drive installed.
- both Drives are seen by XP Disk Management
HELP !! What is going on, please??

Hi MudCrab
Many thanks for coming back to me so promptly.
Outdated or incompatible drivers could certainly be causing this, but I'll pursue this possibility when I've tried out your other suggestion.
Hunting about of the Acronis website seems to suggest certain other problems have been caused by a clash somewhere in the works between the two programs. So I'll un-install both as fully as possible, and then try each of them in the absence of the other to see what happens in respect of my second drive.
Watch this space .....
