DDS 11/Try & Decide
I have been "patiently" waiting for the release of DDS 11 since I installed W7, but it appears that my wait is not over, even though it has finally been released. While downloading it, I decided to check for any problems to expect by scanning this forums posts, and while I fully expected to find some, I'm more concerned about the ones that reported problems with being able to boot the OS, or interference with operating TI 2010.
This concern was reinforced by the fact that I just uninstalled DDS 11 beta, and attempted to start TI 2010, but that only produced an alert that it had detected an older version, and required a reboot to fix. Rebooting and trying TI 2010 again produced another error window containing data beyond my understanding, so I reinstalled 2010 to fix it. Starting 2010 again, produced the same alert as before about detecting an older version, but fortunately rebooting did fix the problem this time.
I'm particularly concerned about this TI issue, because I believe that it was caused by the installation or uninstallation of DDS 11 beta. The only way that I'm willing to test DDS 11 now, is if I could find a reliable way to use Try & Decide, to prevent any other problems with the OS or TI, but if I had to reinstall TI, I imagine that would also defeat Try & Decide functioning, thereby rendering it useless.
The bottom line is the question of whether there is a SAFE way to test install DDS 11? As much as I like the program, it is not enough for me to endanger my current system. If no one can offer a solution, I will just continue using an alternative program.
