How do I delete an active volume

Thread needs solution

I have marked a volume as active and now I'd like to delete it but the "delete" option does not appear as one of the actions that can be applied to an active volume. I am also unable to find a way to deactivate a volume. How do I deactivate a volume so I can delete it?

I have Acronis Disk Director Home

Being marked Active does not stop a partition from being deleted.

What version and build of DD are you using?

Are you getting an error message?

Are you using DD in Windows or from the CD? You could try using the CD and see if it will delete it.

Does Disk Management also refuse to delete the partition?

Can you post a screenshot of the problem? It may help to see it.

I will try to grab a screen shot later. Unfortunately, DD is installed on a different machine than I use for email. I don't get an error when I try to delete the volume. I don't even see "Delete Volume" as an option when I right click on the volume in the DD UI nor do I see it as an option in the "Operations" menu on the left side of the screen. It does appear for volumes that are not marked as "active". I'm using the latest version of DD. I just bought and downloaded it yesterday.

Thanks,
David
