Were you installing or uninstalling?

Did you already have a version of DD10 on your PC?

Check the contents of your Windows Temporary folder and delete as much as the OS will allow.

Your temporary folder is located in:

c:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER_NAME\Local Settings\Temp

Miro, as bodgy mentioned, first please make sure that you haven't Disk Director already installed, and if you have, please uninstall it. After that please clean up your Temp folder and try to install the software from scratch.

I am having the same issue. Spent all day trying to install Disk Director 10 into XP. Really is frustrating. Cleaned my temp as well.
Also can't see where extract the log from DD10.

Please help.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you what went wrong during the installation without MS Installer log file.

Please gather it using the following instructions and attach to your reply:

  1. Launch the product installation file;
  2. Once the Acronis product installation screen appears, right-click on the name of the component that fails to install. You should see two options there: Install and Extract. Select Extract:

  3. Browse to the folder where you would like extract the component and click Save:

    (!) In this case we will save the *.msi installation file to the C:\Acronis folder. The name of the installation file will be AcronisTrueImageServer.msi.

  4. The extracted *.msi file should appear in the location that you have specified:

  5. Go to Windows Command Prompt (Start -> Run):

    And issue the following command:

    msiexec /i msi-filepath /l*v log-filepath

    where msi-filepath is the full path (including the file name) to the file you extracted in steps 2-3 and log-filepath is the full path (including the file name) to the log file you want to save the output to.

    For example:

    msiexec /i C:\Acronis\AcronisTrueImageServer.msi /l*v c:\msi.log

  6. Go through the Installation Wizard as usual and send us the log file created during the installation:

  7. Pick up created .log file and attach to your reply to this thread.

I'm having the same problem/error when I try to install Disk Director on my Parallels (version 5 for Mac) installation of Windows XP. I've tried the suggested solution/s (deleting temporary files and restarting the Windows Installer engine) but none of them help.

I've attached the installer log file and Windows information file.
