Max and Min partition size the same - can't increase partition size
I restored a boot drive to new hard disk via Acronis Home. The original disk was 27 GB and the new disk is 150 GB. The new disk books ok in the old computer but the C: partition is 27 GB like the original disk.
I tried to resize the 27 GB partition using DD 10 but I keep getting the error that the maximum size of the partition is 27GB. There is 121 GB of Unallocated space next to the 27 GB but I cannot cannot enlarge the 27 GB partition. I also tried making the 121 GB into a new partition and merging the two partitions but that doesn't work either.
The error I get is "Acronis Disk Director is not able to increase the free space on the selected partition. The current size of the selected partition is the maximum possible."
I am connected to the drive via USB in a Win 7 computer. The drive actually is for windows XP machine which is too slow to run Acronis Backup.
I've attached a screenshot of the error
Any ideas how I can increase the partition size?
Thanks.
Nate

Mudcrab - Thank you very much for the prompt response. I did the chkdsk and that solved my problem. I very much appreciate your help.
