Cannot restore image from external USB HD

Thread needs solution

Hi guys, new to the forum.

In any case, I have my Acronis Snap & Deploy images saved on a share on an external USB HD and booting with a standalone bootup disc. The boot process works flawlessly and i'm even able to navigate to where the image resides in order to start the deployment.

When i start the deployment, i get a message immediately saying the deployment was successful in like a second. Of course, rebooting the machine shows the machine is still in the same build state. Can someone shed light on what i need to do to get Acronis to deploy the image to the machine from the USB drive? Really appreciate it, thanks.

Hello win7-dev,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the Acronis forum. I will do my best to help you with this issue.

It is not clear what causes it but we can try a few workarounds. Is it possible to put the backup to another backup location, like your external hard drive for example?

It could also be caused by the OS in the image or the image itself. Have you tried a different image/OS?

When deploying from the network share try toggling multicast/unicast settings and see how it goes. Please use page 63 from our user guide as a reference.

If my suggestions do not help please contact our Support team directly so that we may resolve this problem.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you.
