Dell OptiPlex 7010

Thread needs solution

I am trying to use the Snap Deploy to image Dell OptiPlex 7010 desktops. I cannot get the computer to connect using the the PXe. During the boot process it does not locate the PXe on the server. I boot up the machine using the Acronis disk and then select "Acronis Snap Deploy Agent." It then goes into the countdown and waits for the server connection. At no time does the server see it or at least I assume it does not as the workstation does not show up on the management console. I have restarted the Acronis services on the server. I verified that the PXe is working by connecting it to an older Dell OptiPlex 620 workstation. I contacted Dell and received verification that the BIOS is the latest version and supports the PXe boot.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Tom Alway,

Thank you for posting this question in our forum. I am happy to assist you.

Can you please provide following information in order to identify the root cause? For the moment I think the network adapter is not recognized correctly. But this has to be identified. Unfortunately, I could not find any registered Acronis product on your account.

  • Which Version of Acronis Snap Deploy you are using? (2,3,4?)
  • Which Build you are using? (Help - About) The latest build from Acronis Snap Deploy 4 is 540.
  • Does it work, when using the Acronis Snap Deploy bootable media instead of PXE?

I am looking forward for your answer.

Thank you.

I am having the same issues. I have updated the Optiplex 7010 BIOS to A17.

I have using Snap Deploy 4, Build 540

I have not tested the bootable media. I can report back when I try that.

Hello Derrick,

I've sent you a message with download link to a newer build with updated Linux kernel.

Please install it, re-upload a Linux-media to PXE and check if it helps.

Thank you.
