Driver missing for "Intel 82567V Gigabit Ethernet"

Thread needs solution

Have just taken delivery of lots of HP Pro 4000 desktop PC's (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/sm/WF06a/12454-12454-64287-3328896…)

When booting over the network the machines pickup an IP address, Snap Deploy Agent is loaded, but no Network Adapters are listed in the Agent. I guess its missing a driver?

For reference...
- According to HP, the NIC is "Intel 82567V Gigabit Ethernet"
- During PXE it shows Intel Boot Agent GE v1.3.53, and below that...
- Intel Boot Agent PXE Base Code (PXE-2.1 build 089)

Please can you help asap? I've got lots of these machines and I need them deployed before a deadline!

Thanks

Michael.

Hello Michael,

Thank you for posting. I will do my best to help you.

You are right, the bootable components are missing a driver for your hardware. I would recommend to contact our Support team with this report so that we can help you asap.

If you experience any delays with the case please let us know.

Thank you.

Anton,

Attached is the report you asked for. I don't have a valid support contract so I cannot submit a service request. Please can you do this on my behalf using the attached?

Many thanks.

Michael.

Hi Michael,

Thank you for getting back to me.

Unfortunately this issue cannot be solved without involving our Senior Expert professionals and you will need to re-new your support agreement with us in order for us to investigate and resolve this issue.

I apologize for the inconvenience and you can always submit your feedback here or contact our Management team directly at managers@acronis.com

I will also send you a private message in a few moments with contact details of our sales rep in your area.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you.

Anton,

This is unacceptable! Acronis should provide software updates free of charge, which this is. This is not an upgrade. Snap Deploy needs an update to support this NIC chipset.

I am frequently on these forums and there is a long history of requests asking for updates to the Agent to support new NIC chipsets. Why my request any different? Any of your customers could have started this thread. My support has expired, but this problem isn't specific to me but all of your customers with a new HP 4000 Pro.

To quote you (taken from http://forum.acronis.com/forum/20367)

"I'd like to explain the difference between an update and an upgrade in case someone else from our forum community would like to know.

An update is a new build of the same product version whereas an upgrade is a completely different version. Just in case, this article has additional information"

Michael.

Dear Michael,

I entirely understand your concern, and appreciate you being honest with your feedback.

The thing is - these drivers should be present in the latest update, so there can be some hardware or compatibility glitch. Unfortunately Forum is not a support channel, but a community, thus in case the issue requires investigation, we will have to forward your request to the Support Team, which is impossible without the support agreement, as Anton explained.

I entirely understand how inconvenient the situation may seem, and we're willing to assist you with it, but this is Acronis License Policy. Don't hesitate to share your feedback with the Management team directly.

Thank you for understanding.
