WinPE PXE boot image for the Dell Optiplex 790 (download link)
I have created a WinPE image that works with the Dell Optiplex 790 workstations. This is a work-around until Acronis officially supports this new hardware. I will update this thread (or close it) once that has happened and this is no longer necessary. This image contains drivers for the network, and the general chipset drivers (all of them). It makes for a bit of a bloated image – and the boot time take a little longer. But this was the only way I could get the hard drives detected by Acronis.
To use this PE image, you will need to first download and install the Windows Automated Installation Kit for Windows Vista (This provides the WinPE 2.0 boot environment). You can download and install it from here: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=10333
1) Download and extract “AcronisMedia-Optiplex790.zip”. Download links are below:
2) Open Acronis Snap Deploy Management Console.
3) Click on “Configured Acronis PXE Server” under the Remote Management category.
4) Click the link for “Upload PE to PXE server”. NOTE: This will replace your current PE Media if you have all ready configured one.
5) Click Next, and then browse to the “AcronisMedia-Optiplex790.wim” file.
6) Click Next, and then browse to where you installed the Windows AIK, which is “C:\Program Files\Windows AIK” by default.
7) Click Proceed and wait for the files to copy over.
Now you can PXE boot your Dell 790 with network support.
When the initialization comes to a stop and you are at the command prompt, you should run “ipconfig” and make sure that you were able to obtain an address. I have to do an “ipconfig /renew” almost every time before I can start doing any imaging.
Refer to the Acronis documentation for instructions on how to deploy or create images from this mode.
Feel free to PM me if you run into problems and I will try to help.

I understand why you removed the link....but have you come up with a solution to the problem?
