ATI 2016 won't backup network volumes
Hi all,
I have the following problem:
I've pointed my local libraries (My Documents, My Pictures, My Music, Downloads, etc.) from a NAS computer (see 1st screenshot). I've created a backup of my system volume (local drive C:) to my NAS to a special backup volume ( \\nas4free\backup\PC1\WIN10 ). Everything works fine so far. The backup has been created once and every week an incremental backup will be added.
Then I've created a backup of my documents and pictures. I've added them to as sources and I've selcted the path to my backup volume (\\nas4free\backup\PC1\Data). I've configured the options an started the backup and every thing works fine for a few days.
Since I got the message that my cloud trial license has been run out of date I'm unable to store my documents to my NAS. Nothing has changed on both systems. The backup of my local drive still works fine, but my documents won't be backuped any more. ATI always stopps with the messsage, shown in the second screenshot.
The error message says something like: "Multiple connections to a server can't be established by a single user with several credentials." But I didn't used several credentials. I'm logged in with the same credentials as on my PC. After testing this credentials again I got the message "Connection established", but the backup process fails again.
Does anyone else had this problem or knows what's going wrong?

This is a known Windows behavior: during a Windows session, you can use only set of credentials to access the same other "computer" (the NAS in this case).
If you have accessed the NAS without user credentials (as "public") using Windows explorer, for example, that counts at a set of credentials. In that case, if ATI is trying to access the same NAS afterwards with the NAS admin account, for example, the error will happen.

As I wrote before, I have the same credentials on my local computer as on my NAS. Due to this I can use my local accounts to mount my folders, conatining documents, pictures etc. I also use this credentials to access my backup folders.
The only acception may be, that my wife, who has her own credentials (on the computer as well as on the NAS), sometimes is logged in in parallel.
But after several restarts of the computer ATI still won't backup my mounted files, although it is backing up my local disk.

RaMun,
Review the link below and follow the recommendation for clearing out your credentials and reestablishing those credentials. Even though you are not getting an onscreen error stating that your entered credentials are wrong I think that is the problem here. Let us know how it works out.

@Enchantech: Greatfull help, thanks a lot.
Although ATI provided the option to test and reestablish the SMB connection, this doesn't work.
But the tip of Enchantech and the article https://kb.acronis.com/content/58004 describes the exact solution of my problem.
In a few word: ATI stores the SMB (Samba) credentials within the windows registry. In case of this problem you just have to execute the following steps:
- Make sure ATI has completely being stopped. (I did this by starting the task manager and killing all ATI processes)
- Start the windows registry editor (press [WIN]+[R], type "regedit" (without quotes) and press [Enter]
- Remove the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Acronis\Connections\smb
- Restart your computer, start ATI and reselect the source and target folders. During this ATI asks you for your credentials.
After that I started the backup process and ATI starts backing up my mounted data folders.
Thanks all for reading and help
Cheers

One last thing, in case of ATI developement or RnD is reading this post:
Please think about more helpful error messages. This one, I've pasted above doesn't doesn't describe the real existing error.
Cheers

Ramun
That Windows windows with credential used to drive me crazy, because there was a shared PC. To get around it I did something different.
Instead of giving each windows user their own set of credentials, I created a user for the machine. So I would have user SUGO for a shared windows PC. All Mapped drives would be done with Sugo account. Scripts at startup would remap the drives (by Scheduled Task) upon Startup and again upon unlocking. Logging into that NAS for Acronis backup (ie backup by FTP) uses SUGO account. Users share access to shared folder, which they did not take advantage of anyway.
ITUNES music was move to a shared folder and given a mapped drive letter like W: Mapping for each user (to keep them separate) because I don't want to share/manage my music with my daughters' music. (substituting password for real password). Its not a terribly secure method but the PC is locked, and the sugo user has limited rights on the NAS.
net use w: \\DiskStation\music\%username% /user:sugo PASSWORD /PERSISTENT:YES
My printer/fax/scanner (networked) has a username too, so it can save faxes or scans to two different network shares....these are already mapped on each PC. You can follow this method as your networking world expands. Currently I have two PCs, one NAS, two laptops, three iPhones, one android, one networked printer. Also, a wireless router, a switch, a wireless access point, and a wireless range extender (to cover a dead spot). Additional items hitting the network are a roku, a wii, and a BlueRay player. Thats 17 items!
