Auto cleanup not working

Thread needs solution

Hi, I set auto cleanup to delete all files after 14 days. However, it has not been happening.

The 14 days will not apply until after the version chain completes. In your case, that is 14 days after the second full completes as that is what closed out the version chain. It will be another week until your cleanup applies, assuming you don't modify the task or have not modified the task already. If you modify the task, the version chain time starts over again.

Instead of using days, you can set the number of version chains to 2. This would do what you want since your backup task is essentially one week. Just remember that if you modufyvthe task, the version chain timeline resets. It's not recommended to modify existing backup tasks though either as it usually leads to undesired behavior. Instead, create a new task with a unique name and run that instead.

pir473,

The preceding post is "right on."

Also note that your system had some issues on both Feb 28 and March 14 when the files were split into V1-1 and V1-2.

If your system does straighten itself out, it probably will not be until Full B10 is older than 7 days.

If it does not perform deletes then, I would suggest you start over with a new task.  Something caused the V1-1 and V1-2.

It could have been a temp loss of connection but it could also have been file or disk errors as well.
