Backup stops

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis set to run 5 different backup scenarios and 4 of them run without any problem. My documents folder is the one with the problem. It will run fine for 5 or 6 times, and then the next time it runs it gets to about 70% and then it just stops. Shows it's working but the file on my NAS doesn't get any bigger and this is after it has been sitting there doing nothing for 2 hours. If I click on stop, and hour later it is still processing the stop command. I normally have to kill the process, and service, delete all the backups, restart my PC and then after re-booting it will run fine.  I have attached the .nfo file since I don't know exactly which one I am supposed to send. And the .zip file is too large. I can send any part of that but I don't know which part to send.

We will need to gather some more information in order to understand this problem, the NFO file looks to be just an XML summary of your computer hardware components and some of the Windows logs, but nothing obvious from a quick look through for the problem you are seeing.

Can you provide some more detail about the 5 backup scenarios that you have created, how do these relate to each other, how are they scheduled, are they all writing to the sam e target NAS device?

The first place to start looking is in the Acronis log files, held in C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Logs folder - this may be hidden on some systems.  Look for the service_* log files that are created at the dates / times that the problem backup scenario is running - these are in XML text format and can be read using Notepad.  Attach copies to your reply if you want help in reading the messages in the logs.

Other questions, is there any other activity on your system related to your documents at the time the problem shows itself, i.e. any applications working on the documents folders, any other users who might be accessing the same via any network shares, other activity touching the same target folder on the NAS drive?
