"Cannot find version 1" during incremental backup

I am using Acronis True Image 2013.  I created a file backup of a folder on my computer, backing it up to another drive on the same computer.  After creating the backup, it said that the backup was valid.  The next time I tried to back this up it said "cannot find version 1".  Nothing has changed on this computer and it was only one day later when I attempted to do an incremental backup and got the error message.  What is causing this?

I realize I need to upgrade to versio 2016 but what can I do to fix this on my current system?

David, please look in the log for the task where you are getting this error message to see if there are any more messages to expand what the problem is here.   You can click on the cog symbol at the right of the task name to access the logs.

One possible reason for the error message is if you have deleted any older backup images for the same task via Windows Explorer as this can cause the Acronis database to get out of sync with your backups.
