Can't access Acronis options

Thread needs solution

Hi

I can not find the page where I can chose the settings for how I'd like to backup my computer  Can you please give me step by step instructions of how to access this page.  I'm attaching a screen shot.  I am
not able to get to screen shot 1.  When I sign in I go directly to Screen shot 2.

How do I get to screen shot 1?

Thanks for your help.

Click on the Backup link in the lefthand column of the GUI should retrun you to screenshot 1.

Hi Enchantech

Thanks for responding.
When I sign in I land on screen shot 3.
Then I click on dashboard which leads me to screen shot 2.
I'm trying to get to screen shot 1.

When I click on the backup link in the left hand column I go to screen shot 4
where I have to sign in again on the cloud

When I sign in here I'm on Screen shot 5

How do I get to screen shot 1?

Thanks

Juana

Juana,  It looks like you are actually logged into the online dashboard or cloud via web browser?  If so, to configure your backup, you need to actually be running the Acronis application on your PC directly.  The cloud login through the browser is a different way of accessing the data, but the backup and configuration are actually done from the Windows application. You should be able to search for Acronis True Image on your PC to find the app (assuming you've already downloaded and installed it).

You're welcome.  Always happy to help out!

Hey Bobbo

I have a message "you have used up your cloud storage space" from Acronis.  I'm sure I set it up wrong with keeping too many
backups.  Can you give me the steps to delete all but maybe 3 backups that I have stored.  I can't seem to figure this out.

I do have c and full computer backups scheduled.

Any suggestions for best practices would be appreciated as well.

Thanks so much.

Juana

Hi Juana,

Log into your cloud account via the web browser (https://cloud-wr-us1.acronis.com/enterprise/login/login.htm

On the right of your cloud backup, when you hovr over with your mouse, you'll see a "cog wheel".  Click on it and then click on "Cleanup" as this picture shows.

From there, you can choose different cleanup settings to meet your needs.  The frequency of backups and length of retention will really be up to you and how long you think you need to go back to vs. how long you can go back with your storage limit.

Which cloud backup plan do you have - what's your maximum storage size?  You're going to want to only keep as many as possible to stay within your limit and that's going to depend on the size of the original data and how much it changes between your scheduled backups.

For me, I use Cloud backup as disaster recovery only (offsite backup).  I do one weekly backup of the entire PC and keep 20 versions.  I do another daily cloud backup of just my profile and also keep 20 versions.  I have an unlimited cloud backup plan (at least for now) so space is not an issue for me.

I have 2 local backups as well...

01) one daily backup (1 full + 6 incrementals).  Keep 4 version chains (4 weeks).  Cleanup automatically occurs after the 5th full backup completes.  This goes to a locally attached USB 3.0 Hard Drive (2TB as my entire OS is only 70GB).

02) one daily backup (1 full + 3 diffs every other day).  Keep 4 version chains (4 weeks).  Cleanup automatically occurs after the 5th full backup completes.  This goes to a networked SMB share in a different location.

For most, this may seem like overkill, but I believe in the 3-2-1 backup plan for important data - 3 copies of the data - at least 2 of those are backups in different locations and one is offsite.
