c/drive 190 gigs..acronis reads 407 gigs

Why does Acronis read more gigs for backup on c drive 407 gigs, than my hard drive actually containes 190 gigs ?

There is also a bug in the GUI (if you're not using sector-by-sector). When you launch Acronis and look at a backup, it lists not the size of the next backup, but the size of all of the existing backups.
To validate this, iff you were to go to the folder in Windows and select properties of that folder (I'm assuming you have one folder per backup job as we only want to check the size of the backups that exist for that one job), you'd find that the size there matches what Acronis is displaying in the GUI.
It only starts to show the actual backup size of the current backup when it's running. It's a bug that is in 2017 and has just been recogonized by Acronis. I've posted screenshots before and was hoping to link one for you easily, but the forum filters still aren't working. Give it a test to see if your existing backups add up to what Acronis is showing you in the GUI.
