Creating Acronis Bootable Media - on Source Machine Only?

Thread needs solution

I have a laptop with a fragile (clicking) drive, which I have ceased using until I can clone the old drive onto a new one. Acronis KB says to install the new drive in the laptop, then clone the old one from an external enclosure (already purchased), onto the new drive (already purchased).

This creates questions:
1. Obviously, I wish to use the old drive minimally until it is cloned. Must I install Acronis (2016) on the old machine/disk to be cloned in order to create bootable media, or can I install Acronis on another laptop (same manufacturer, sturdy drive) to create the bootable media?
2. I have found no place to ask this of Acronis; both the online and telephone support forced me into a question area about my old (and no longer supported) True Image. Is it wise to buy from such a rigid company?

If you have purchased Acronis True Image 2016 then you should be able to login to your registered Acronis account at http://www.acronis.com/en-us/ then click on My Account and enter your logon credentials (registered email address and password).

If you registered your product then you will see information for that product in the list of registered products for your account and you will also see an option for Download - click on this and then you will an option to download Bootable Media which you can use to clone your failing drive to your new drive without having to first install ATI 2016 on another computer to create the bootable media.
