Email Notification Settings
I am trying to setup email notifications when my two backups per day finish. However, I can't get a successful email test.
Here is the information from the Comcast website for email configuration. I think I entered the information below correctly, but where specifically does this information go into the Acronis notification page setup?
Email Configuration Settings
To configure an email client to use Comcast email (@comcast.net), the following settings should be used for sending and receiving email:
- Incoming Mail Server Name: imap.comcast.net
- Incoming Mail Server Port Number:
- Recommended: 993 with SSL ON
- Only if Needed: 143 with SSL ON
- Outgoing Mail Server Name: smtp.comcast.net
- Outgoing Mail Server Port Number:
- Recommended: 587 (SMTP)
- Only if Needed: 465 (SMTPS)
- SSL Encryption: checked
- Authentication: XFINITY username and password required

Steve, I used your screen shot with my appropriate Comcast information (double checking spelling) and test email failed. So, I tried using my yahoo account with these Yahoo settings posted on Acronis website:
Applies to:
Solution
- In Acronis True Image notifications settings specify:
SMTP server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 587
Encryption: TLS - In SMTP authentication settings specify your Yahoo e-mail and password.
E-mail notifications should be sent successfully.
I used my Yahoo information, double checking spelling, and got the "failed to send the test e-mail. Check the specified e-mail settings (followed by a link the page which includes the Yahoo settings above).
Failures with both Comcast and Yahoo makes me wonder if the email notification setup is working in the release I just installed.

I don't normaly use notficiations but just upgraded to v6569 today. I created a test task and tested my mail notifiation and received it as expected.
what if you try to create a new test task and configure notifications again - any luck? What if you change the default notification to include the task name (to force a change? I usually add the task name in the subject as well such as:
%OPERATION_STATUS% - Acronis True Image notification from %COMPUTER_NAME% - %BACKUP_NAME%

Installed Acronis TI2016 on my laptop (I have a multi-computer license) and setup my first laptop backup. While setting up the backup I tried to setup notifications and test email failed. But, I decided to try setting the port number to 465 rather than the Comcast recommended 587. Test email worked!!! So I went back to my desktop computer and revised the notification settings on that machine to use port number 465 and SSL. Test emails for both drives on the desktop computer were successful.
Mark me happy thanks to the two MVP guys.
