Encryption Problem in Backup to Cloud
I have the most current version (Build 6027) of True Image 2016 with a subscription to Acronis Cloud. I want to backup my hard drives to Cloud with encryption for added security.
I set up the backup to Cloud from within True Image 2016 and activate encryption. As the backup starts, there is an indicator under the backup destination graphic (Acronis Cloud) that encryption is enabled, so everything looks fine from within True Image 2016. However, when I go to my account online and examine the backup details using Dashboard, encryption is shown as "disabled." So what is going on. Is my backup to Cloud encrypted or not?
Also, on page 52 of the True Image 2016 User's Guide, it describes options for choosing the type of AES encryption key for the backup. I see no such option when I configure an encrypted backup.
Also, when setting up a backup to Cloud, there is no option for backup validation. Is a backup to Cloud validated automatically?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello Stephen and Bobbo,
It is a known issue with online dashboard that does not read encryption status properly. Currently there is no setting in the program to customize encryption level: it is hard-coded to be 256-bit AES.
Backups on the Cloud are not stored in .tib files. A special database-like format is used instead. It does not have validation as a separate option because uploaded data is verified "on the fly" before it is written into online archive.

Slava,
Many thanks for the clarifiction! Default 256-bit-AES is what Id expect, but had no way of verifying :)

Thank you, Slava, for such a thorough and knowledgeable answer! I am comforted that my backed-up files are properly validated and encrypted.

Steve
