Failed to prepare operations. Error code: 7

Thread needs solution

Hello,

Yesterday I made a full disc backup of my primary disc (SSD 240GB).

Next, I added 2 more SSD to create a RAID5 volume. But when I try to restore my backup I get an error:

Failed to prepare operations. Error code: 7 'Le disque n'est pas trouvé, vérifiez que tous les disques durs sont attachés à l'ordinateur'

The source backup is located on my Synology NAS. I have enabled the gest account for limit the risk of authentication problem.

The source of the restore utility is a bootable USB key generated by Actronis True Image 2016.

Thank you for your help.

Please confirm that you are using the latest build version 6569 of ATIH 2016 and that the bootable USB key was created with this version?

The error message 'can't find the disk' suggests perhaps that the USB boot version of ATIH cannot find the new RAID5 set that you have created rather than not finding the source data on your Synology NAS drive.

When you boot the USB media does it show your source and target drives correctly?

If the USB media shows the RAID5 set OK but not the Synology NAS then you may not have the correct permissions on the NAS by just using the Guest account.  When you created the backup to the NAS did you use the same Guest account or did you use a different account?

Hello Steve,

It's exact, the probleme was solved by the chat support. It seems that I used the stadard recovery tool, but I must generate a WinPE tool to load the RAID hardware driver from Acronis True Image.

Because the target disc is visible on the standard recovery tool, I thought that the RAID driver is loaded.

thank you for your reply.

Thank you for your feedback and glad that you have solved this problem.
