How to restore a corrupt C drive when remaining drive - partitions are good

My Notebook failed to boot.  Upon analyzing the hard drive I see that all of the only the C drive appears to be empty.  But the remaining Drives / partitions D, E, F, G can be viewed, read and accessed on another PC using a USB Box to provide the connection.

How can I use Acronis True Image 2016 to restore just the first partition, the C-Drive?
Thanks. Howard

Howard, you should be able to do this with no issue provided you have a Disks & Partitions backup image that includes the C: OS partition.

The first thing that you need is the Acronis bootable Rescue Media from which to boot your notebook computer.  If you have another PC that is running ATIH 2016, then you can create the Rescue Media there, or you can sign in to your Acronis Account and download an .ISO (CD image) file that you can burn to optical media and boot from.

With the Rescue Media, this needs to be booted in the same way as your Windows OS uses, so if Windows boots using the UEFI bootloader, you need to select the UEFI option for the device where the Rescue Media is installed.

The standard Rescue Media uses a Linux kernel to provide the boot OS for the Acronis product so you may need to disable Secure Boot in the UEFI settings if this prevents the media from booting.

If your Notebook has the internal HDD set to RAID for the SATA mode then you will need to either change this to AHCI or create and use the alternative Windows PE version of the Rescue Media which can be updated to have RAID device support (the Linux media does not support RAID).

Once you are booted from the Rescue Media and can see both your internal and external drives, then you can continue with the Recovery of your single C: OS partition from the backup image on the external drive.

See the ATIH 2016 User Guide: Recovering partitions and disks for further step by step guidance on doing the recovery.
