Indication that a backup is running

Thread needs solution

I cannot see anyhting to indicate that a backup is running.

Is there a way to show that?

Thanks

John

John, if you have correctly configured a backup task then you should see a clear indication that the backup is running as shown in the attached screen shots from one of my systems.

I did not express myself properly. There used to be a windows icon on the desktop showing a backup was running, I do not see that now.

Thanks

John

John, if you are running Windows 7 or later, then the Acronis icon may be hidden in the group that Windows hides by default.  My screen shot shows how it looks on my system when Acronis is backing up.  This was from the group that you see when you click on the /\ (tent shape) icon in the bottom task bar on the right.

Update.

Even though there does not appear to be any Acronis activity, when I shut down Windows 10 I sometimes get a message saying that "Acronis operations will close"  What is that?

John

It's normal to see (from time to time) if it goes away within a minute or two.  It is Acronis finishing a backup process or shutting down Acronis services (especially if you have a nonstop backup or something thta may be running all the time).

If you see the messages all the time though, or if they take more than a couple of minutes, I'd recommend removing Acrnonis, run the clean tool in my signature, reboot and reinstall the most current version (download from your Acronis account) and run by right clicking the installer and selecting "run as administrator" to give it the highest privileges.  People seem to see this message more often after upgrading from a previous version of Acronis and installing cleanly usually prevents it from happening.  Again though, if it's indfrequent and/or only takes a minute or 2 to close down before reboot ro shutdown, it is normal.

I have run the Clean Utitlity and reinstalled the latest version of TI2016 (which I already had). Plus DD12.
No messages so far but will keep an eye on it.

Thanks

Fingers crossed.  I think you'll be OK though if it hasn't already started up again with the messages.  You will most likely it from time to time, but they should be infrequent and not last more than a minute or two if Acronis is in use and needs to stop an ongoing backup job.

I don't see that message at this time but have another query/problem which I have put in another thread.

Thanks again

John
