Missing Windows 10 mail contacts

Thread needs solution

I had a badly flawed computer thanks to an out of control app that could not be deleted or installed fresh.  The action I chose was to re-install Windows 10 Home from a Windows 10 Home media file I had purchased for my backup PC.  I used ther 'saving nothing' option.  My configuration prior to the re-install was the MS free upgrade from Win 8.1 Pro.  After the 'clean' install, I got everything back working except the Comcast contacts I had in Windows 10 Mail (PEOPLE) are gone.  I have since run a backup of the new configuration on a different USB hard drive than the last back up of the flawed entire drive.  I dare not restore the old configuration in its entirety because it was malfunctioning badly.

Does anyone know where the PEOPLE app is hidden and will I have permission to copy or restore it to where it should go in my present configuration?  If it involves the registry I am probably out of luck.

Norman, the Windows 10 People app can be found by clicking on Start >> All apps then scroll down until you see People in the listing of apps.

The information for People is drawn from your Microsoft Account (or any other accounts you have associated with it).

If you are signed in with your Microsoft Account then People should contain any Contact you have for your MS account.

I don't personally use either a Microsoft Account or any Microsoft Mail program as I refuse to share all my personal information with Microsoft in that way.  Especially as there doesn't see to be a way of importing contact information etc in apps like People.  (I use Mozilla Thunderbird and manage all my own contacts through that program).
