No schemes tab on cloud back up.

Thread needs solution

Im very new to the software as I am still digesting all the information I can find on how the software functions.  One thing I am confused by is the lack of a "SCHEMES" tab when trying to back up to the Acronis Cloud.  I would love to be able to set my cloud back up to perform incremental/differential backups but havent figure out how to do that.  Is it even possible? I havent yet completed a full back up to the cloud as i have about  1.5 tb's of data to upload at 10mb a sec.  Its going to take quite a while to upload all that data at such a slow upload speed.  (thank you Comcast!)   So as far as I understand the way things are now, cloud back ups are only full backups and there is no way to perform incremenetal/differential backups? I really dont want to do a 3 day upload to the cloud every couple of weeks to backup my computer.   I have paid for the software but havent activated it yet as I wanted to "try out" the software first so im using trial software.  Could that be the reason there is no schemes tab or is this purposely designed.

Ill stop rambling and hope someone understand what Im talking about!

Thanks

Hi Dean,

The Cloud backup has it's own unique scheme.  It uses a process similar to non-stop backup (as I understand it).  Basically, it does block level scanning of the configured backup and will alway ONLY backup the data that has changed since the last backup run.  In a way, it's like incrementals on steroids.  You also don't really need to worry about "cleanup" process as it is already configured.  You can tweak it though, but he defaujlts are 20 backups OR 6 months maxmum - whichever comes first.  So, if your backup is daily, you will get 20 days.  If it is weekly, you'd get roughly 5 months.  If it is monthly, you'd get 20 months.  If need be, you can have multiple backup schemes for the same data - they would just need to be two different backup tasks.  As an example.  I do my full PC to the Cloud once per week with 1 task.  However, I also have a separate cloud task that only does my user profile and selected data on a daily basis.  That way I have multiple recovery options.

ALSO, I don't use Cloud as the only backup source since it's slow.  It is my offsite disaster recovery - just in case.  My main backups are local to either an external USB drive, a NAS/network device or a combination of both.  A good backup plan will follow 3-2-1 IT backup method.   You should have a least 2 copies of backups for any important data and they should be in different locations in case soemthing happens to 1, or both.
