quotas are violated, Target drive is running out of space, and Write error but plenty of space on destination drive
Below you will see the Notification report of the failed scheduled backup.
Notes:
- Acronis True Image 2016.
- Plenty of space on backup drive. The destination drive has over 2 TB of free space while the source drive is only 250GB.
- The failure happens periodically, last week the backup succeeded, two weeks ago it failed.
- After any of the failures, a manual backup performed the following day succeeds.
- Drive manufacture's software reports destination drive is healthy.
Any help in diagnosing this problem will be appreciated.
Thank, you.

Thank you for your prompt response. The source drive is an internal SATA ssd. The destination drive is a spinning disk SATA drive and both are connected via the Serial ATA interface bus in the computer.
What is interesting is that although there was only about 316GB of space used on the 3TB drive and Windows 7 graphical interface displayed this with a small portion of the drive filled, the text below it displayed only a few MB of free space. Previous to the manual backup, it showed 2.x TB of space free. This doesn't make sence since the source drive is only 250GB. Do you have any idea why this would happen?
I decided to reformat the destination drive and start over with the backup scheme. Doing this isn't idea as I risk having to restore the machine from scratch if something fails. I use Crashplan incremental backup for my user files so they are protected.

Melissa, if this drive is considered to be an internal / fixed drive by virtue of being connected via SATA then it is possible that Windows has allocated space on the drive for System Protection / Restore Points / Volume Shadow Copies and this is what is taking up the free space on the drive.
