Restore C: drive from .tib file Windows 10: How to?

Thread needs solution

I have a .tib file I made in Sept 2016.  I don't know what version I used to make the file.

My C: drive (SSD) crashed.  So, I did a clean install of Windows 10.

I need to reinstall all my old programs, plus all of my settings/preferences.

Fortunately, I made an Acronis TIB backup of C:  a month ago, and it is sitting on an HDD.  I see that it indeed has all of my C: files in it.

How do I do revert my clean install to the C: drive as at it was at time of TIB creation?

Eliot, welcome to these user forums.

Do you have any Acronis Rescue Media (on CD/DVD or USB stick) already created?  If so, this can be used to restore you backup of your full SSD drive by booting from that media.

Please note that you cannot use Acronis to just restore your old programs, settings and preferences.

I would recommend logging in to your Acronis account online where you can download both the installation media and an ISO (CD image) file for the Acronis bootable rescue media (to be burnt to media).

I would further recommend making a new backup of your clean install of Windows 10 to your HDD drive as a precaution, as this will give you the means of getting back to where you are now should you need to do so.

Please see KB document: 57982: Acronis True Image 2016: Restoring to a Drive with a Single Partition which has details of how to recover your backup to the new hard drive, including screen images of the key steps involved.
