Restoring from a Acronis 2016 backup fro

Thread needs solution

I am trying to restore a backup made from a HP PROBOOK 6470B .. I had to boot the Acronis recovery manager from a Flash drive drive and was able  to sucessfully restore the image . However when I boot the system the  error message " EPC has been corrupted " comes and fails to boot . I have tried several things, inclding activating the acronis startup recovery manager and dectivating it ... when i activate it , it has a slightly different issue , the recvery manager loads and then comes up with my original error message " windows failed to start . a recent hardware or software change might the cause .. and the status is 0xc000000e

info : the boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible

any insight to this issue ? my hard drive seems fine , the acronis software sees the c: drive and restores the image seemingly fine . however there seems to be Boot ( mbr issues )

Steve,

Have you removed the USB hard drive that you used to perform the restore?  On my system, if I leave the USB hard drive attached, I get a boot error message.

If the USB drive is disconnected and you still get the message, can you tell us how the backup was made?  Was the backup made using "Full Partition List" with all boxes checked?  See picture 1 below.

I did remove the flash drive, but acronis support somehow made a bootable flash drive from 2013 and not  2016 , im not sure how that happened since i watched him run my 2016 acronis backup program and use the tools out of it ... i un installed all of my 2013 backup software ....  go figure

You should also remove the USB hard drive, not just the flash drive.
