Retry set to 2, but keeps retrying infinite number of times

Thread needs solution

Hi All,

I have my backup set to retry only twice, and it has stopped there in the past, but for the past 48 hours my backup drive has not been available and ATI keeps retrying at my set interval (every 10 minutes) all day and all night and the notifications are flooding my inbox. Hitting Cancel or just ignoring it doesn't cause it to stop. What can I do? There is no option in the UI to directly cancel either.

Thanks,

Joe

Joseph, this is a known bug with ATIH 2016 that has been reported many times in these forums.

I can only advise that you change the Error Handling options - these are on the Advanced options page for your backup task.  At a minimum increase the delay time between retry attempts to be in hours, not in seconds which is the default.  Alternatively, deselect the option to retry a failed backup.

To stop the continuous retry attempts you are currently seeing, you should use the Acronis Scheduler Manager (see link in my signature below) to remove all scheduled tasks which the retries are creating.

Run the schedmgr.exe program as Administrator, this will give a Command Prompt type window.

Type the command get list which will show a list of all current scheduled tasks.

Type the command task zap which will remove all the listed scheduled tasks.
