searching through different tib files in windows explorer

Thread needs solution

Hello,

is there a way to search for files inside different .tib files?

I make backups of my machine and need to search for some files which may be located inside a .tib archive.

I know i can double click each .tib and look there, but it would be nice if the windows search can also look inside the tib.

Heiko, if you mount the .TIB to a drive letter instead of just double-clicking on it, then you should be able to search from that mounted drive letter (assuming that your .TIB backup type allows it to be mounted).

Heiko, sorry but that is the only way that I am aware of.  You could mount multiple different .TIB files to separate drive letters then search them all at once in that way, i.e. search in This PC / My Computer which will search all active available drives.

I don't have 2016 installed anymore, is there a "search" option in it when you click the dropdown next to the name of the backup?  If not, it's available in 2017.

Rob, good point, I hadn't picked up on that Search option in the drop-down task menu.  Also don't have 2016 installed to test if was present in the older version?
