Setting compression

Thread needs solution

I have read elsewhere that in TI 2016 users can set compression in Options> Advanced> Performance. I don't see any way of doing that at that location (see attached screen capture).

How do you set compression in TI 2016?

My apologies if this appears twice — my original post seems to have disappeared.

To set a compression other than Normal click the chevron symbol that appears to the right of Normal which will expand to reveal a list of choices.

Thanks for the quick reply but isn't this the system priority rather than the compression setting?

You are correct.  In the screenshot you provided I see that it is, sorry I missed that before.  If you have the cloud set as the destination then compression is set at the default Normal level.  If your destination is a local device then you have the option to change compression.

My destination is local but I can't find any way to set compression!

Jerald,

Could you please describe the way you've configured the backup plan. Compression option is available in Advanced section of Settings when you create a new local backup plan. It is not available for existing backup plans (after you executed a backup operaiton).

Hi Jerald,

When you are setting up a new schedule, it's on the last tab (advanced) down near the bottom, see the screenshot.  If you have already set up a backup you can't see the option.  See this screenshot http://screencast.com/t/wkwFxyv7

Hope that helps,
