I'd like to know if TI 2016 can be used to recover a backup on to a different computer with a different configuration? TI 2013 Plus Pack claimed to be able to do that.

Thanks

What you want is called Acronis Universal Restore, and I believe it is included in ATI2016.

Acronis Universal Restore is covered in Paragraph 11.9 of the User Manual, starting on page 150.

You can click on the Product Documentation link on the left side all the pages of this blog, and download a copy of the User Manual.

Yes, it does. This feature is not available in the trial though... Which is something other free backup software also excludes in their trials. In 2015 and 2016, Universal restore is a separate add on that can be added to the offline recovrery media for dissimilar hardware.

Thanks...I think I found it in tools. BTW, is there any way to 'edit settings' like there was in TI 2013?

Which settings are you looking to edit?  There are settings for recovery and backups that can be customized.  You can customize your backup type, frequency, version chain cleanup, excluding certain files or folders, set the .TIB file size, etc.

I'd take a look at the user manual and play aroudn with the trial version a bit to get acustomed to the different settings in options available. Acronis is pretty robust for the amount of settings and options that can be configured.

There was a setting in TI 2013 where you could change the schedule, the number of backups before a full backup etc. I see you can set up a Backup in Options, but I don't see how to edit them after that backup is created. In 2013 there was a gear on the upper right that gave the option to 'edit settings.'
