Unable to delete (obsolete) Cloud backup

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have 4 Backups configured that back up different folders on my PC to the Acronis Cloud. I have one backup that I don't need any more that I have tried to delete (Using "Delete..."). However after what appears to be a successful delete ("Deleting backup..."), it comes right back to the list of Backups within a few seconds.

If I select "Recover files", it fails, and it is also not visible in the Online Dashboard.

How can I get this backup removed properly? Note: If I click the "i"-symbol, it says "This backup was added manually or via auto-search..."

Thanks.

At the moment i cannot even log into the cloud and have had issues since a several hours. The cloud backup i deleted a couple of hours ago did show up again in the list when i just launched TI2016. I did successfully delete cloud backups yesterday.

In TI2016, go to the Account tab and see if you are logged in or not. If you are logged in, you will see your e-mail adress. If you are signed out you will see "Sign in or create an account". (See attached image.)

Can you even log in? (Right now i can´t.)

Thanks. Yes, I am logged in right now. Tried again to remove the backup, it pops right back. It is however not configured, "Reconfigure"-button is shown instead of "Back up now".

I have seen this before (local backups mainly); just click on reconfigure button, go into one of the options, save and the normal buttons will reappear.

Thanks, but this is not the issue. My problem is that I cannot delete a certain backup. When I try, it comes back to the list within a few seconds. Same thing happens every time. I have also tried to Reconfigure (and selecting different sources for backup), but it does not help.

I assume you are trying to delete the backup from the TI interface. If so, have you tried to delete the backup from the Dashboard? Clicking on the GogWheel next to the backup task brings up the delete option.

John, what are you trying to remove, a Backup or a Sync?

If it is a Backup, log out from TI2016 and close it and log into to Acronis Cloud and Remove it manually: https://cloud-wr-eu1.acronis.com/enterprise/login/login.htm (See attached image)

If it is a Sync the first sync created, a.k.a the default sync, cannot for some reson not be removed.

That´s why i wonder if it is a Backup or a Sync you want to remove. :)

Last resort, contact support.

Hi. Thanks for the suggestion! It is a Backup I am trying to remove.

I did as you suggested. Logged out from TI2016, and removed it manually Online. However when I logged in on TI2016, the backup was still on the list. I removed it in TI2016 also, and it appears again ;(

I now tried to uninstall TI2016. I checked that the obsolete Backup is not in the Acronis Cloud. I re-installed TI2016, but the obsolete/deleted backup is STILL on the list! From where does TI2016 pick up this???

As I understand it, it gets the listing from a database. It appears that for some reason the data base is not updating (assuming the backup has in fact been deleted from the Cloud).

I would suggest renaming the data base (adding old to the file name) and rebooting. Acronis should rebuild the data base. I am not an expert on this and have not tried it for a long time. I think the file is called "Archives.db" and is located (at least in Windows 10) in the directory: \ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\DataBase directory.

I would suggest confirmation from someone before trying this as it is not something I am an expert on.

Hi. Thanks. I however went back to True Image 2015. In this version I was able to delete the backup just fine. I will keep this now for a while as it is working ok.
