What is it Incremental scheme? Can I use this scheme to update my disk image?

What is it Incremental scheme? Can I use this scheme to update my disk image? For example: I created full image of my hard disk. During some months I updated my save games and installed new programs on my hard disk. So when I create Incremental scheme, all changes will be saved?
