When does TI start a new Incremental Backup Set.
I have used Symantec System Recovery and before that Ghost for a number of years to backup my OS disk. I tried TI a few years ago and I have problems restoring my OS from a disk crash. I am think about upgrading from Win 7 to Win 10. SSR does not support Win 10 at this time.
I also use Genie Backup Manager 9 to backup my data files. The reason I do not use SSR to backup my data files is that from time-to-time (I do not know why) SSR will start a new Incremental backup set. This causes an error because I do not have enought room on the disk I store my backup to for a number of incremental sets. I think (?) that when SSR finds that a large number of files have changes instead of an incremental backup it starts a new incremental backup set with a full backup.
I am thinking about using TI for both backup. I know that TI allows one to set the number of incremental backups before starting a new set.
My Question. If there is a major change to the HD either by a large number of files been changed or say a defrag of the drive, will this trigger a new backup set in TI?

As stated in proir post plus If your trigger a defrag prior to a full, there is no increase in size.
However, if you trigger a defrag prior to an incremental or differential backup, the resulting next backup will be huge as TrueImge backs up all changed disk sectors.
