Thread needs solution

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if it is possible for Acronis to backup a Network Storage drive?

I have a main PC and a media server with network drives. If I install True image on my main PC, can it backup the drives of my media server and store the backup on another network external hard disk?

and 2 question

I got a message that a new version, I am assuming an update, is available.  I select to download and install the new version and it seems to go through the sequence of downloading, and then starting the install then it all goes away and ATI2017 is not updated.  I open ATI2017 and get a pop-up that a new version is available.  I select install.  The dialog box comes up "Unpacking Installation Files".  The "Install Wizard" box opens.  After that nothing happens and when I open ATI2017 I get the "New Version Available" pop-up all over again.  Is there a trick to getting the installation to work?

thx all

Welcome to these User Forums.

Yes, you can backup a Network Storage drive provided that Acronis can see this when you select the Source for the backup, and the same when choosing the Destination for the backup which can be on a different Network drive.

The one limitation of backing up a network resource is that Microsoft VSS used for snapshot creation cannot be used as this is only valid for local drives under the control of Windows.

For the ATIH 2017 in-application upgrade issue, this may be related to security software you have installed which prevents applications from running from the User > AppData > Local folder path.  This is where Acronis downloads the upgrade program to and tries to run it from.  You can check to see if the upgrade installer is found on your system and try running this yourself as Administrator.  The alternative is to download the latest build installer from your Acronis account.
