Ditto to Steve - as long as they are being installed on the same physical hardware (VM's have their own UUID so are considered new hardware for each VM), you can have multiple installations of Acronis for each OS installed to that physcial machine.

Machine" means a single operating environment. For example, each instance of a Windows or Linux operating system is considered a single "machine", even if multiple operating systems are installed on a single computer. For more information, see Acronis Licensing Policy.
If it is not licensing correctly, I'd reach out to technical support for assistance. A link to customer support chat is in both Steve and my posts.

Yes I feel same as ATIH activation is that this is based purely on the hardware signature of the computer motherboard, CPU and MAC address, and therefore should be able to activate the same license / serial on each partition running Windows on that same hardware signature and have no problem doing so, as only one OS can be active at any one time.

Steve and Bobbo_3C0X1, when I say I have three partitions on your single HDD, I am saying that I have different Windows OS installed on these three partitions where I am installing ATIH 2017
Three different Windows OS installed are :
Windows 8.1 pro x32
Windows 8.1 pro x64
Windows 10 pro x32
and
they are being installed on the same physical hardware
only one OS is active at any one time.
But ATI displays - "Activation Required " All Operations except recovery are unavailable.

I contacted customer support for assistance regarding Activation problem and received the response:
Customer support: "I would like to inform you that Acronis True Image 2017 activation is dependent on hardware ID of the computer which is unique. So if you have three OS installed on three partition of single disk each OS will use the same hardware ID and even Acronis True Image 2017.
Hence you will not be able to activate Acronis True Image 2017 on all three different OS."
Problem not solved ?
When OS use same Hardware ID and ATI also use same Hardware ID then why it is not activating ?

Ammy, please see post: https://forum.acronis.com/forum/113005#comment-333481 where Gaidar, General Manager Acronis True Image confirmed that licensing is per computer not per OS. The only slight difference in his statement is in his saying 'You may have multiple disks and boot to multiple operating system, and you will need only one license.' wheras you are working with a single disk drive with multiple OS's.
I would recommend reaching out to Gaidar and ask him to clarify your scenario which I would say is more common that having multiple disks.

Ammy, this is working OK for me as proven by just booting my laptop into the second OS and installing ATIH 2017 on that OS. I did not enter a serial number but instead activated ATIH by signing in with my Acronis user account credentials and all was fine. My laptop only has a single SSHD 1TB drive but has Windows 10 (main OS), Windows Vista (original shipped OS) and Ubuntu 17.04 as a third OS. I now have ATIH 2017 New Generation installed and activated on both Windows 10 and Windows Vista from different partitions of the same drive.
