ATI 2017 Database Max Entries

Thread needs solution

On two Windows 7 systems, ATI 2017 would backup successfully however, recently started leaving an error trail "Error 0xb03e9: Failed to open data stream." when deleting the last backup per my "Store no more than..." setting.  ATI database (file) entries at  C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database were 30 and 34, respectively.

"Reset" Acronis database, an all is well.  Assume its known that ATI 2017 cannot track more than ~30 backups.  Perhaps its time to consider a more robust tracking mechanism like SQLite.

asterger, I can only recommend opening a Support Case for this issue with the Acronis Database having an issue if you have more than around 30 backup chains.

I haven't seen any other users reporting this issue as far as I recall, but have never thought to ask them how many backup chains they may have configured in the ATI GUI, so it is possible that this particular cause was considered when other 'Failed to open data stream' type errors have been seen.

Thanks for the reply Steve but all my backups, both machines, were full backups.  Just alerting you, whoever that 30 backups seem to be all that is supported on ATI 2017.

Just calling them as I see 'em.

I guess that unless your backup chains are fairly small, then most users would not have the backup space to accommodate 30 or more backup chains so may never see an issue like this!
