Backup Delete Hangs
I'm running Windows 10 Creators and just updated ATI 2017 to version 8058 this morning. I have backup that I no longer use and decided to delete it. Using the GUI, I selected the backup, clicked on the dropdown arrow and selected Delete. When asked for delete options, I selected the one to delete everything. There were only two .tib files for this backup. The delete has been running for 30 min. and the .tib files still exist. I have canceled the delete.
I'm looking for next steps to delete this backup. Should I run a Validate and try the Delete again or is there another thing I should do?

Enchantech,
The backup was of my internal hard drive to a local external hard drive. The size of the each tib file is 200GB. It did something because when I restarted ATI2017 and selected the backup it no longer displays the Recover PC and the other Recover option at the bottom of the window next to the Options button. When I clicked on the downward arrow by the backup name, it also doesn't show Validate as an option. The only options were Rename, Clone settings, and Delete. I decided to try the Delete and let it run longer.

I let it run about 2 hours, and it didn't end. The backup I'm trying to delete is named ASUS Backup V1. I cloned the settings from this backup to create ASUS Backup V5, which I'm now using. Both backups have their tib files in the same folder on the external hard drive. Maybe ATI is confused because the backups are in the same folder, but you would hope it would issue some error message instead of apparently looping.
Because I cannot do a validate I think I'll do a Delete and use the Remove option then I'll use File Explorer to delete the tib files from the external hard drive. I'm not sure if this will cause some problems with the ATI database, so I'm going to do some more research to see if there are other options.

If you use the app to remove the tasks fro the backups first then delete the backup files using explorer you should be fine.
Each backup task should have it's own folder and each backup file needs a unique name so that confusion such as this does not occur.

Enchantech,
The Remove and explorer deletion worked, and I ran a backup using the current backup without any problems. I'll monitor over the next couple of weeks.
This is the first time I used Clone Settings and didn't think to change the folder for the backup task. I usually create a new backup task/folder.
The reason I used Clone Settings was that I was reviewing my settings with a friend who is starting to use ATI 2017, and I found some settings that were not the way I set them when I created the task. Automatic Cleanup wasn't turned on, which I always use, and Error Handling was set to something I had used in the past. Have you heard of old settings coming back in a backup task? It sounds very strange to me. Is there a way to clear old settings without having to uninstall/reinstall the product?

You can modify or change settings of a task by opening the task and making the changes you wish. This is a hit and miss thing though as some claim it does not work correctly.
Until you actually modify and run a task the settings for that task are not saved or set. If you remember that then most issues with task handling can be avoided.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I was unaware that the settings for a task were not set until the task had been run. I've made changes to tasks and didn't run the task until a week or more later, which may account for the reason why some settings changed back to the original and some stayed as changed.
Thanks again for all of your help.
